From March 27th – 7th May 2017:
“Future city and the green shift”
The International Museum of Children’s Art is exhibiting in the ‘Art Passage by the metro station at Jernbanetorget in Oslo in cooperation with Sporveien AS. For the 3rd time international children’s art is presented in the underground ‘Art Passage at Jernbanetorget located in the walkway between the east- and westbound platform at Oslo S. The ‘Art Passage is a central arena where the cities unknown artists show their work which is daily crossed by up to 40,000 travelers. Throughout the year there have been exhibitions in the passage of both photographic artists and painters.
** The exhibition focuses on children’s perception of the future city and the green shift. This in conjunction with the fast development of Oslo city and the rapid rising population. The capital will need more kindergartens, schools, cultural centers, housing and a better upgraded organized adjusted public transport system. Within 2020 Sporveien Oslo has been commissioned to upgrade and renew the infrastructure of the tram system in Oslo. The ambitious ‘Tram program is already well underway with secured reparations for further good sustainable long-term use. When we ask the children, tomorrow’s adults their opinion, they express their views in a very positive and creative way. Children want green zones, safe traffic, a nature in harmony and envision trips to exciting destinations in pace with technology and the development of a sustainable society.
Sporveien AS; – We see it as part of our social responsibility to safeguard the well-being elements that raise the overall travel experience. Sporveien metro stations have many art treasures and we transform the tram area to a mobile art arenas. Through our art initiative, we want to create a pleasant environment for passengers and provide a venue for local, lesser-known artists.
