This year, like last year, there’s a free admission to the International Museum of Children’s Art when you have an A-, H- or D-card in connection to Norway Cup. The offer is valid for the duration of the tournament: July 31st – August 6th.
The International Museum of Children’s Art in Oslo houses an unique collection of art made by children and adolescents aged 2 – 18 years old from more than 180 countries. The museum is a pioneer institution and is regarded as one of the first of its kind in the world. The exhibitions are spread over three floors, and walking around in them you’ll get a unique chance of looking at the world through children’s eyes and experience the aesthetic values children’s art can produce. Perhaps you’ll find a picture from the place or country you’re from?
Exhibitions
“Children know what’s important” is this summer’s main exhibition. In it, we focus on children and young people’s values and their creative interpretation of what is important to them, both good and bad. Also on display are Sigurd Storm’s (1975) children drawings from the period 1976-1993, as well as the exhibition “The return of the fabled animals” – an exhibition of fabulous drawings made by Eskild Hagemoen (10). You can also visit the museum’s permanent exhibitions, as well as our international doll collection on display in “The Magical Room”.
Activities
In the museum you can participate in various activities. Join one of the museum’s professional musicians’ drum sessions, or take part in our familyworkshop where you can create your own art. If you solve the museum’s crossword puzzle, you’ll get a litte surprise! In the museum shop you will find a wide selection of postcards with printed motives from the collection, as well as artbooks, music, souvenirs and more. We also sell coffe and ice cream.
Garden with sculptures
The museum has a large garden with sculptures, playground and tables and benches where you can eat your packed lunch. There’s also drawing challk available, so make sure to make a little street art before you leave.
Velcome!
