Practical information about group visits

GUIDED TOURS SCHEDULE

Guided tours are offered at set times and must be booked in advance. During the school year tours can be booked at 9:30 – 11:00, 11:00 – 12:30 or 12:30 – 2:00 p.m.. During the summer months the schedule for tours change to 11:00 – 12:30, 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. due to our summer opening hours. More information about the content of the tours can be found from the educational program’s main page.

The guided tours start on schedule, so we advice you arrive in due time. We have a cloak room for your outerwear and  the visit is payed for on arrival, so make sure you have time for this before the tour starts. Visit duration 90 minutes.

PRICES AND PAYMENT
If booked in advance, the group tour cost is 40 NOK per person, for both adults and children/students. Payment is due upon arrival, we accept cash and card payments. If you wish to pay by invoice, it is important that you bring with you a document of requisition and you need to deliver it to us upon arrival. For group bookings we prefer that you pay collectively.

Free entry for children under the age of 2.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS PER TOUR
Groups of more than 30 people need to book several appointments, as we only have one guide available per tour. Smaller groups can be merged with other smaller groups for the same guided tour.

EATING FACILITIES
In our large garden you will find benches and tables under a tent roof, where you can eat your packed lunch. For cold and rainy days we open up a little cabin whith chairs and tables. There is no area inside the museum for eating. Packed lunches must be eaten before or after the tour.

In the museum shop you will find a coffee machine with the options of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. We also sell ice cream.
