About the workshop:

Participants get to build their own miniature world inside a closed bubble – jars that previously held jam are now filled with odd landscapes, small inhabitants of twigs or plastic linen, or maybe your favorite character brought from home?

Here, play and exploration of your own creativity and imagination are the main focus, not a predetermined result. If you’re not inspired, we’ve included a bunch of picture book favorites, where you can find inspiration for your own bubbles.

Materials:

Participants are welcome to bring their own items if they wish, such as favorite characters or small treasures from their own collections.

About us:

We are both artists and designers with experience of creating imaginative universes in different ways.

Gina Thorstensen is an illustrator, animator and Virtual Reality director. She has a BA in Art from Barcelona and MA from the Norwegian Film School. She loves world building and creating new worlds and populating them with her own characters. She does this both in the form of physical installations and virtual VR experiences.

Ingrid Solvik is an artist and set designer, with a BA from the Norwegian Film School, MA from UIC, Barcelona and KHIO.

She creates digital and physical models, miniature worlds, to explore ideas and moods for art installations and scenography.
